Dino Park and Zoo!

Both of my sister beat me getting this on my blog so if you follow them too you have seen many of these pictures and read about them.
Last week we had a lot of fun. My mom, sister K, and I headed down to Dino Park with the kids. They had a great time. Little A just did not get why he had to ride in the stroller while the other kids got to walk. The first group picture is taken in the same spot that we have a pictures of the grandkids 8 years ago. Lets just say there has been a lot of change since then. The day was really hot so the kids took a break in the shade of the dino. To get out of the heat we went into the the education center where there was a lot of fun activities for the children.
Cousin H asked me to take his picture by his favorite dino the Utah Raptor. The kids had a lot of fun getting there pictures taken with all the different dinos and in the picture cut outs.
Two days after that we all loaded up again and headed down to SLC to the Zoo. Little A loved everything. He is in love with animals right now so this was amazing to him. We took a train ride, played at the playground, feed the ducks, and saw many animals.

Cousin R&R decided that they wanted to be spiders at the playground and the big cousin R tried to show Little A how to be a turtle but he was not interested in that. He just wanted to go down the slide over and over.

Man's Best Friend

About 2 years ago, my hubby decided that he needed to add another dog to our family. He Loved Gunner and he was a great dog so he wanted him to be able to help train a new dog (Tuck). About a week ago Gunner (one on the left) got sick and stopped eating. He is a 14 year old dog so we knew that it was coming soon. Any way this week we have been feeding him cat food with a spoon and pedialite with a syringe. This morning he died. It is like a member of our family is gone. He has been my hubby's dog for 14 years he has been a part of his life longer than I have. Tonight we buried him at our new house. We will miss this great dog.

Happy B-day Dad

So before I start I have to tell you that my Internet has not been working for a few days so this post is a few days old. Also I am not sure what it going on with my camera but most every picture I take is blurry.
My dad is an awesome father and grandfather. We had a great time celebrating his big day. The grandkids were so excited about his cake that they blew out the candles before he had a chance. He got a lot of stuff but one of his favorite was the air soft gun. There are really big with the boys in the family right now.
Kim asked me not to put this picture on here but it is so funny I just had to. Shea was scratching his head on her back even though it looks like he was snuggling in during the singing of happy b-day.
Ryker wears these funny boots when he washes the trucks at the shop. I just had to take a picture of them and then he told my that that picture better make the blog.

Sewing Fun!

My sister asked me to do a sewing class for their two oldest daughters. I love sewing so I thought why not. I decided that bean bags would be easy and a fun first project. They were both so serious for the first hour but after Reg. sat of the old chair and broke it they got a little silly. At the end they decided that they wanted to come back and learn more. Next week they think they will be ready to make a pillow case. We talked about what else they would want to make and Tay want to sew a quilt and Reg was not sure. They both were so fun and worked so hard. Their moms both said that they were so excited for more and Tay is working to earn a sewing machine.

Bear Lake FUN!!!

This past weekend my family headed up to Bear Lake to enjoy all the festivities of Raspberry Days. This has been a family tradition for as long as I can remember. There is no other place on the earth that our family can come and have fun together and relax. We spent a lot of time at the beach. Little A did not like having to wear his life jacket while at the beach. Every time we are at the lake my dad is found sleeping like in the picture below. It was funny because all the sister had to take a picture so you may see it on all three of our blogs.
Little A attended his first Rodeo. He loved seeing all the animals and being outside. I love the picture of Little A boy cousins. They all have the cutest personalities as you can tell Grandpa does not egg them on at all. On Saturday many of us took part in the 5k race. It was so fun because my Uncle Wade from Washington State was there along with 2 of his daughters (the other one in prego so we excused her from being there) and his son and son-in-law. Ryker, Lance, Jeff, Kim, Shea, Hunter and I all ran it from my family. It was a lot harder race than the one I ran last week. I am still feeling it in my legs.
One of my favorite things about the weekend is getting to be in the parade. The Grandkids look forward to this all year. I was worried about how little A about be. He loved it I think that he tossed a whole bag of candy. This year Lance gave us extra entertainment by singing Christmas songs to us though the race. The theme was Fun in the Bear Lake Sun, so the kids got to sit of blow ups during the parade.

Here are picture of the Grandkids and then one of the Whole family (minus Shea and Adam they were both home working).

Thanks mom and dad for starting this tradition many years ago and providing us the opportunity to let our children to be a part of it too.

My first 5K

About 2 months ago I had decided that I was going to start to run and be ready to run the 5K at Raspberry Days this year with my family. Every year I watch them come across the finish line a wish that I cold do that. The training has been fun and hard at the same time. Little A is my running partner he love getting outside and riding in the running stroller 3 time a week. At the beginning I was only able to run 1/2 mile. I thought that I would never be able to make it to 3.2 miles. My sister Kim would always tell me that I could do it and to just hang in there. So now for the race. Kim, Ryker, and Lance convinced me to come to the Mendon race this morning with them. There was suppose to be a 2K and I was going to run it just to feel what it is like to be in a race and to prep myself for next weekend. When I got there the lady in charge said that they decided that they were not going to do the 2K anymore. It was 6am and I was not just going to head back home. So I decided that I would and could run the 5k. I was way nervous but it did it. Through the whole race I was slow and steady. I learned many things during this race which should help me out big time next week. I learned that you need to make sure you I-pod is working right, that people that walk and run will still beat you, that the I-pod arm band is in the way (I took it off and tossed it in the weeds during the race, after I had to go and find it), and that Lance is intense (oh wait I already knew that), and last that a 5K is something that I can accomplish. Oh yea I have to add that I ran it in just over 39 minutes. I zoomed in on the bottom picture to read the clock, at the end I was to out of it to even look at the clock.

July 24th weekend!

We had a great weekend full of fun. I love the 24th of July because it is a great time to be with family and to remember all the amazing people who came before us and made Utah the awesome state that it is. Yesterday we went to the Logan parade and to Willow Park for the craft booths (both of which I did not take any pictures of). That evening we had a BBQ at my parent's house. Most of our family was there along with Grandma Pickett, Jen and Jer and their boys. There is never a dual moment when we are all together. While I was down stairs with the kids I found this metallic Silver vet that I wore in 9th grade. I came up wearing it and then Jer wanted to try it on and model it for all of us. Besides Jer modeling we ate great food, the kids played in the water, and we took rides in my mom and dad's UTV.
We finished off the night with what we called the WT (White Trash) fire work show. The fire works were great but the name come from the fact that every child got their clothes wet so they were all in diapers, or grandpa old shirts as dresses. It is all good when you are having fun.
Today we decided to go to Mendon for their parade. Hunter was in the parade with a youth group that he has been picked to be a part of at school called youth 2000. Little A loved the Otter Pop, that he got. I am going to have to get some next time we are at the store.
