Spring Break Trip Day 3
Hovenweep, Four Corners, ShipRock New Mexico
Approximate Driving Time: 6 Hours +
This was a day full of adventures and many are ones that we do not want to do again. All I can say is that we had to live and learn so to all of you learn from our mistakes.
We said good buy to Moab and the fun time we had there and headed off for a next adventures. We wanted to go to four corners, all of you who know my dad know that there in no on that he can not talk to and have a great conversation. While he decided to strike a conversation the the men, yes men that clean the hotel that we were staying in. They were in the parking lot taking a little smoke break. He told them where we were headed and of course asked them for any advise of places we should go. While they said that Hovenweep was a place that you can not miss so my dad added to our day.
Lets just say the Hovenweep added a lot to our drive and was not a MUST see and I do not recommend to anyone heading there anytime soon. On our way there we stopped to eat lunch at an A&W in a gas station. While eating there was a bird and and the pet type flying around. Little A was so scared that the bird was going to come and eat his food. So the rest of the trip he would cover his food and say "birdy no eat it". While Hovenweep was a hike. We headed straight down a mountain and then back up it and then around the rim of a canyon that had no fence so the kids could have just walked off the cliff. Little A was a trooper and hiked with Grandpa for the main part of the hike, we were over 2/3 of the way done and he was sleep walking so we put him back in the pack on Jeff's back and he feel asleep within 2 minutes.

When we went to leave we asked the Lady Ranger the best way to Four Corners and she broke the news to us that it was closed. That would have been some great info to have had but why would they want to put something like that on there web page. So to really see New Mexico she recommend going and seeing ShipRock. Once again we took her advise (we must have not learned from the first time).
Even though we knew that Four Corners was closed we still wanted to go through there on our way to ShipRock. While we were there for about 10 minutes about 25 cars came and left trying to see Four Corners and having the same luck we did.
Off to ShipRock though the Navajo Territory. Lets just say that is really the middle of no where and one of the dirtiest places I have ever seen. When we reached ShipRock little A was a sleep so I stayed in the car. Lets just say we all forgot to take a picture of the Rock that the city was named after.
To end the day we loaded back up and drove to Cortez where we spent the night. Even though Four Corners was closed we created our own Four Corners while driving. We entered all the four states that are at Four Corners.

I just want to document some of the things that went on in our car during all the driving. Thanks to Ipods and Nintendo we really did not hear much from Hunter and Reagan. Sammy and Little A both had DVD players and watched movies (Thanks Kim). Grandma and Kim addicted my son to Diet coke while I was sleeping. But I think that Andrew out talked any of us, which is had due to the fact that Kim, my dad and I were all in there. Here are some of the things we heard over and over. "Hunter in back, Andrew Swim, Andrew Kim's House, Grandma Water/Coke, Andrew snack, Andrew wants Both (meaning a Cheetos in each hand), Andrew movie, Andrew book, Andrew blanket, Andrew out, Binky, Dinner, Samantha over there, and Reagan over there." Many of those are still sad in our car even when Kim's kids are not in there.
The pictures on the right are the frame of the deck. Pictures to come of the rest of the deck. It is not finished yet but really close. On the right is Little A with his sandals on the wrong feet. He has been determined to put his shoes on all by himself lately. We are worked hard on it and he is getting better at putting his shoes on the right feet.
Here are some of the things Little A has been up to or loves to do. Top left is his train, he love moving the blocks around to make it different, bottom and middle left, right now his is big into using the chairs and bar stools for make either a fence or a train to crawl under. Top right every morning little A loves to eat waffles, he always goes and gets the big bag of wafflee mix as he calls it t make waffles. Bottom right he is showing me how muddy he is after working/playing in the dirt in the back yard.
As for a prego note: today I have officially finished 8 months, and on Thursday I will only have 5 weeks to go. On the June 1st I have another ultra sound to make sure that everything is going okay since I am measuring 2 weeks big and she is really low.
